How to Improve the Conversion Rates From Your Email Marketing Campaign

Email marketing is one of the fastest and simplest ways to increase conversions and improve business profits.

If you change from a selling off the page method to an email marketing model, you can easily increase conversions by 10-times, 15-times, or more.

Why is Email Marketing So Profitable?

You may wonder how email marketing is so profitable when so many people claim it doesn’t work.

Well, there’s a simple answer. Many people don’t know how to properly use email marketing. In fact, most people make some simple and easily corrected mistakes.

Truthfully, email marketing does work, however, you need to know what you’re doing. If you simply send an email, it’s like going into the boxing ring, hoping to win, against a world champion using a just hit him strategy.

Here are five simple ways to get greater profits from email marketing, by making more conversions.

1. Email More Often

This is counter to the advice offered in the past. Truthfully, the more you email your subscribers, the more sales you’ll make. This is not just a way to get more sales because you give your subscribers more buying opportunities. However, you need to ensure you’ve developed a good relationship with them since they’ll be hearing from you more. If you email more, you’ll find your conversion rates improving tremendously. By how much? The amount of the improvement varies, but my business and my wife’s business have a 10 percent and 16 percent conversion rate through our email marketing efforts. We have a 1 percent conversion from straight off the page sales. Yes, that’s right: it’s an improvement of 1,000 to 1,600 percent or 10 or 16 times.

2. Stop Being Professional

Forget about sending formal, stuffy emails, because they don’t work. People do not want to be addressed like they’re standing in court in front of a judge, they want to build a relationship. So, when you create an email write from one person to another. When possible use the words me and you, even if you’re writing for a big corporation.

3. Ditch Fancy Designs

There are many reasons to avoid using fancy professionally designed templates for your newsletter. Your email marketing company or website designer may encourage you to use these. While they may look great on the email marketing company website, they look horrible at the other end. If you use images in the email, they may not always be displayed. Even if you use HTML formatting, your image may end up looking bad. Stick to plain text emails or simple HTMP which looks like plain text.

4. Have a Specific Call to Action in Each Email

You should have a personal rule that each email should have a specific action that you want a reader to take. This action may include visiting a page, buying something or doing something. However, make sure you have something in each email that you are subconsciously training a reader to take an action on when you tell them to do it.

5. Write About Anything!

This is important. Many businesses send stuffy, boring emails about their business, products, and services. Don’t do that. When you send an email, include some details about your life and anything else you want to talk about. Remember, you want to build a relationship with the reader. The best way to do this is to share information about yourself. I’ve written many things about my life, from my son, who has cerebral palsy, passing his karate belt, which is a major achievement for him. I’ve also written about my toe operation and my dog messing up the kitchen. My conversion rate is over 10 percent.

Honestly, email marketing is cheap, simple and effective if done correctly.
